Quality seal as a Market Opener

The decision which procedure for the assignment of a seal is to be defined is taken by the programme participants themselves. The options range from testing by independent testing organisations to producer tests. The "Smart Home + Building Certification Programme" participants agree that a technically reputed seal ("Smart Home Ready") instead of a simple label should be issued. Germany should not act independently here. Instead European and international companies should be included. This would later result in European and subsequently internationally valid approvals.




Target group-specific and time-efficient Issuing of Seals

The development of a suitable Smart Home Ready mark presumes the identification and clear definition of different target groups and distribution channels. Expected smart home business models can be aimed at

  • skilled crafts and trades
  • planners
  • retailers
  • the residential property market, and
  • end users

Each seal therefore serves a different purpose: This is why both B2B seals and B2C labels will be analysed.
